My lovely writing buddy, Kristie Haigwood contacted me and asked if I’d like to take part in this thing called ‘THE NEXT BIG THING’. Thanks, Kristie! It is designed to raise awareness of our work, or work in progress. We do that by answering ten questions about it. We graciously thank the person who nominated us, and tag five other authors whose work could well be that NEXT BIG THING.
So how about we get started!
Q#1: What is the title of your book?
‘Dying to Remember’ is the 2nd book of The Station series.
Q#2: Where did the idea for the book come from?
Oohhh…all my best ideas start from dreams that then morph into my lives in some way.
Q#3: What genre does your book fall under?
‘Dying to Remember’ is a Young Adult Fiction borderlining on Fantasy.
Q#4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I’ll pick the two main characters. Give it a few more years and Elle Fanning would make a great Piper Willow. And Sloan could be none other than Alex Pettyfer…with dark hair.
Q#5: What is the one sentence sypnopsis for the book?
The next installment in The Station Series by Amazon Bestselling Author, Trish Marie Dawson, takes readers on another lively journey through the after-life adventures of eighteen year old Piper Willow, who has new challenges to overcome, new names to learn and is faced with a new Station occupation.
Q#6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-published but this does not mean I’ve done it all alone, that is far from the truth.
Q#7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Hmmm. This book took me about three months, but probably two months of writing time, as I did an anthology short in the middle of working on this project.
Q#8: What other books would you compare this story to, in your genre?
I have no clue. And I hope that’s a good thing.
Q#9: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
My Aunt Teresa. She died July of 2011 and I still miss her very much.
Q#10: What else about the book might pique the readers’ interest?
Well, even though it IS Young Adult, there is enough fantasy in this book to keep readers asking questions. Especially about what lies beyond death. Do any of us truly know what happens after we die? I want readers to sit back after experiencing this story and go, “Huh…” and just ponder on that for a bit.
I’d like to pass the torch to five deserving authors, and let them tell you all about their work. Their posts will bear the same title and will be live on or around November 28th. Here they are:
