Speed reading app – Yay or Nay?

I’m not tech savvy, at all. So, it was no surprise when a friend sent a link to an article about a new app to me on Facebook, that I had no clue what it was. Have you heard of Spritz? I guess they’ve been developing this speed reading app for a while now on the down-low, and I’m just finding out about it. It’s an app that claims it can help you “read novels in less than 90 minutes”, which is a cool idea for those in a hurry. Like I said, I’m not technologically inclined. The new Brother printer I have blows my mind simply because it has a digital screen. Sorry – got off topic just a tad. Anyway. Speed-reading. New app. Spritz.

Check out what Elite Daily has to say about this new app. Scroll down and give the different reading speeds a try. I admit, anything faster than 350 wpm and my brain hurt a little. I can see how this would work in a school setting…but I don’t see many users reading their paranormal romance or sci-fi fantasies at 500 wpm.

Like I said – I’d never heard of this app till this week. But now I have to share it, because it’s sort of awesome. At least for those stuck reading college textbooks. As for pleasure reading…I’ll stick to my own pace, thank you very much. LOL What are your thoughts on a speed reading app that can help you plow through a book at 500 words per minute?
