This Week’s Friday Features

Happy Friday, everyone!

Can you believe it…the first week of October is almost behind us. Wow, how’d that happen so fast, right? This will be a busy month for me in San Diego, both personally and with writing, but I can’t forget to point out this week’s fun Friday Feature on the new TMDBook audio titles available: The Station Series Novelettes. If you haven’t listened to them yet, don’t miss out – the prices are great!

NILES

NILES, a Station Series Novelette now in Audio

Burning. My lungs were burning. Wait. Not like this. Not like this. With my eyes still shut, I gasped and gulped, but the oxygen couldn’t find its way past my lips. There was no air. As I fumbled at the rope around my neck, I felt two fingernails rip off. I kicked. One of my loafers hit the painted door jamb, and a rubber squeak echoed in the closet like the peel of a car tire. And then it was over. Just…over. My fifty-nine years of life snuffed out like a dying candle flame. And no one was to blame but myself.

My life story ended that day. But I continued on. To a place I never knew existed, a place where those like me were offered something amazing, something special – a chance at redemption.

The Station was my redemption. And this is my story…

KERRY-ANNE

I can’t remember her name. She’s said it at least twice to me, but I just can’t remember it. I’m sitting on a cool bench that wraps around a massive blue waterfall, inside…what…what is this place?

“Where are we?” I know I’ve asked this at least twice too, but the woman is patient and smiles and tugs me back to my feet and begins walking me toward one of several large buildings.

Everything is white here. The ground, the structures, the sky – if that is sky.  For one moment, I imagine that I’m trapped in a giant snow globe but without the snow. I’m still trying to process what the woman has told me just a few moments ago.

“You’re dead…you’re not living anymore…no, this isn’t heaven, not really…”

MEET THE NARRATOR

Kadee Coppinger is a voice over artist, actress, writer, and singer/songwriter.  An avid reader, Kadee loves the arch of the story and the emotion of the characters as they progress on their journey.  Kerry-Anne is her debut fiction narrative.

What’s Next for TMDBooks?

With the latest book finally released last week (Finding Hope, book 3 of the Find Me series)…it’s now time to set my writer sights on the next project. I honestly didn’t know till this weekend which book I’d work on after FM3. There’s just so many stories to choose from. SO many, y’all, it’s not even funny. To be clear, I have three current series and I don’t know, maybe a gazillion and seven NEW ideas festering to be born. I’m not sure I’m even exaggerating that number. I could be. But I’ve never counted the endless messages of notes I’ve jotted down about a new book idea over the last two years, so it could be WAY more than a gazillion and seven. But it would mean leaving my series’ readers in the lurch. My point? I’m not going to write an entirely new idea right now. So sorry.

The Find Me books have three titles now (averaging about 85k words each). The Station books have three as well (averaging about 45k words each), plus three novelettes, and the Hutch and A’ris series has one book (100k+ words). I asked readers which series they most want to see another book from sooner and they were no help. Because it seems that readers want everything next! So then I had to look at a few mitigating factors: recent releases, book length and interest. That last one is for me, not the readers. lol But that’s also not helpful because I could work on all three of these series! I love my babies equally. (Disclaimer – Yes, that’s true, but I have to say that often, otherwise the Muse will freak the freak out.)

Why bother explaining all this? Because no matter which series I choose to continue with right now, I know some readers might be bummed and will be impatiently waiting for me to finish another book so they can get the NEXT part of their favorite series. And there’s only one me. And so little time in a day.

Which is why I’m choosing to write a fourth Station book. I needed to take a break after the third, and I did that. I let readers into the minds of Niles, Mallory and Kerry-Anne, but Piper Willow needs more time. And the readers have been waiting. The Station books are generally shorter. This means that if I write 2k words a day, 5 days a week, I’d be putting out 10k words a week, or an entire book in one month. Small beans for some of my author friends, but a decent challenge for me. These are low writing goals because my schedule is tight with two young children at home with me (mostly) all the time. It also means I’ll have to actually WRITE those 10k words a week rather than spend time talking about writing online. Sorry, social media, but the plan is for you to see less of me. *double wink*

What’s totally awesome about making a decision is I get to do the fun planning stuff now. The title (already have one in mind – but can’t announce that just yet – SPOILERS), the outlining, the characters…honestly, I’m excited to get back into the Station with Piper! How about you – are you happy for this news? If so, then enough talk and let’s do the happy dance together!

Happy Monday, Everyone!

New Cover “UNDER CONSTRUCTION”

I kind of love it when a book is thisclose to being released and only needs one thing – the COVER!

For those of you Station lovers, you ask often about some of the main characters in Piper’s world, and I have listened! I know I’ve said it before, but just in case you missed the news, this summer I’ll be releasing three novelettes (under 10k words – but more than 5k words). Niles, Mallory and Kerry-Anne will each have their moment to shine…hopefully giving those of you a little Station high for the warmer months this year. Niles will be first, and his cover is currently being worked on (first by me, then by my awesome cover designer). I can’t wait to get it out there and into YOUR hands! Keep your eyes peeled for the cover reveal and release date announcement!

The Station, Niles – COMING SOON to a KINDLE near YOU!

Trish Marie Dawson breaks into the Sci-Fi Fantasy genre with an otherworldly tale set on the faraway planet of Ernoth. Some secrets are worth keeping, and others are worth dying for.

A runaway princess on a mission and a mysterious traveler become an unlikely pair when the two cross paths in the unforgiving Dry Lands. As an underground movement struggles to overthrow the Dark King, an old prophecy threatens to change the future, an act that could unleash answers to some of the planet’s most dangerous secrets. Answers the people aren’t ready for. Together, the fiery red-head, A’ris Brynx and the rugged Krane Hutch, must do one thing – survive the lies, betrayals, consequences and…each other.

Character Takeover!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00071]Krane Hutch from The Dry Lands will be taking over my author page on Facebook today. If you don’t already know, the inspiration behind Hutch came from none other than Henry Cavill. Of course, Mr. Cavill has nothing to do with my Sci-Fi Fantasy book, but it’s nice to put a face to the name anyway.

If you’re on Facebook, you should definitely check in at some point today to see what Hutch is up to. 😉

Happy Hump Day!
